The bi-annual Fiesta in the Park was held again in Western Park in Ponsonby, delayed by just a day due to extreme weather. A range of different NGO’s participated in the event, including the lead organisation Toi Ora, The Mental Health Foundation, The Mind & Body Like Minds team, The Problem Gambling Foundation, Crossroads Club House, Supporting Families and of course Changing Minds.
It was truly excellent to be the same sharing the space with our fellow organisations and to have an opportunity to ‘connect’ with one another and the public in the fun and friendly atmosphere of the Fiesta.
The line up of musicians and performers and the MC Johnny Angel provided the perfect ambiance for a day that was really all about people, both onstage and off. Entertainment-wise some highlights for me were the Litterati, Emma Paki and of course Sola Rosa. We would like to extend a special thank you especially to Janette and also to Erwin from Toi Ora and to the volunteers that helped make this event a great success.
