Changing Minds Youth Project
We are in the beginning stages of a new project that aims to support youth in Aotearoa by creating an online discussion space that links to an awesome tool kit for community action initiatives.
The Youth Project (official name yet to be decided) is about giving young people a chance to say how things affect them. There are two components of this online space: a hub for discussion, comments, and posts about anything related to mental health and wellbeing and a separate tool kit that outlines how to engage in community action initiatives.
The tool kit aims to empower people to make positive social change by focusing on whatever they are passionate about and creating media that promotes their message. It may therefore include suggestions about the following things: how to come up with an issue to focus on, write a media release, make a video, appoint a media spokesperson, engage with others working in the area, and/or create a community action group.
Watch this space… We will update you as this exciting project progresses.
